Cheers To The Friggin Weekend!

Urban Outfitters top & flannel ~ Levi's shorts ~ Liz Claiborne Bag ~ RayBan Legend

I made it through the first week of school and trust me I need one! It's so hard to get back into the groove of having someone telling me what to do every week, by a deadline, especially coming out of a carefree summer. What's killing me even more is that school is going to cut into my blog time. With all this schooling I will try my best to post as often as I can. Anything is possible if wanted.

Jin Soon Choi launched Nail Polish Line

Quintessential

I'm a nail stain fanatic and I am loving Jin Soon Choi new line of nail polish! The line will be available on British mainstay SpaceNK in September for the price of $18. The collection will divided into two, "Quintessential" will be the core line of reds and nudes, and "A La Mode" will change according to the color trends.

First Day Get Up!

Remember the first day of school? Better yet, remember picking out your outfit a couple of days before school. Growing up, the best part of school was the back to school shopping. I didn't care what classes I was taking, who were the teachers, when am I taking lunch or eating lunch for that matter. All I cared about was my first day of school get up! That day was very important for all children in my community; God forbid Mom & Dad bought Payless sneakers -- though my mom was a Payless Queen! It killed me -- Having the right get up on the first day of school is like a dog marking it's territory, but as I get older of course I realize this is so unworthy. This morning as I woke up to my first day of classes and asked my inner goddess, what would you like to wear? -- Chucks? Yup, boyfriend jeans? Hell yea. I am going to be sitting down for long periods of time I need to be comfortable!

Summer is dead (X_X)

Ugh summer is now for me officially over and I am depressed. Today was the first day of classes and I will admit walking on campus was exciting. I know I sound crazy to say that I actually missed school, however it's something about working on your accomplishments that is good for the soul. It's sort of a picker upper, so I guess I am trying to say when summer ends its always a sweet new beginning to something magical.

Rad Jewels

Recently I have been in a crafty mood, so I started beading my own bracelets. I absolutely love my arm candy though a lot of them out here are just plain Jane! I want spunk, rock, hot, sick! Something I can wear everyday but is easy on the eyes. I dream of  my own business and I think this would be a great start for me until I get my feet off the ground.

Here are some pieces I've made -- There will be more.

Bod

I always get the question -- How do you stay so thin? Anyone from the African American community know that our people, especially the women are 7 times out of 10, are overweight. Don't get me wrong I love our shapely women; we are unique and beautiful but we also suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or just plan obesity. Everything we put in our bodies reflects how we look and even what comes out on our skin; and this goes for White, Black, Asian etc... My regimen, I stick to smaller portions and always make sure there are some veggies involved. Broccoli, carrots, celery are my favorite for vegetables. At night I will admit I get hungry, so I munch on some grapes -- which is also great for your skin -- or any kind of favorite fruits you prefer.  If you need to cook with oil, extra virgin olive oil is the best! I use olive oil for my skin, hair, and food. My skin is as clear and soft as silk and my hair is as fluffy as a cloud. Take care of yourself and your insides. Also what we eat, our children eat, we have to be a better example to them because our next generations going to be ridiculously obese if they are not already!

Can't Go Wrong Levi's

I don't know about you guys but Levi's has always been my favorite denim spot for years! They fell off a couple of times, though I think they got it right this time. For the past 3 years now I have been packing and stacking on their denim pants and jackets! Now you can shop the Fall Collection for 25% off. Their denim seems to feel more stiff, more durable and less bleeding when washing. That's what I'm talking about Levi's

Lookbook

Hell is Beautiful

Next stop after Jamaica was the Grand Cayman Island. I visited family members as well while they gave me a mini tour locally. Cayman is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Being that I was on a cruise, time to actually do activities was very limited -- I mean only 5 hrs. limited which became so frustrating. It is really hard to see family and have to leave so soon.

One place that I adored so much I recommend everyone to see if they plan to visit Cayman Island. Welcome to Hell! That is literally the name of this place. Rumor has it is that this is where the devil actually lives because of the condition of the rocks. When in truthfully this section before was completely covered by the sea. Since the water has dissipated and has never returned, the rocks are dried up and some days when it is extremely hot, the rocks turn red and it looks like fire across the land. It is so cool you must go see!

Trench Town Rock

My mother, grandmother and I took a cruise back home to Jamaica to spend just a day with family. I was born here in New York, however I am always excited to take a trip to connect with my roots. Every time I step foot on that beautiful island I am always in total elation. Though the island is very poor, the love from the people is always welcoming; it makes me proud of my roots. I wish I could share more with you because words cannot describe how beautiful this land is inside and out. I am back in New York City and already we are planning our next trip home. I cannot wait!

OBEY X Keith Haring

Keith Haring, my favorite artist if you haven't noticed yet. I grew up in New York City and I remember seeing his work after his death all over town. OBEY released a collaboration with Keith Haring for a limited time for men and women available at UrbanOutfitters. It's a must have.

Finds That Climbs

80's Purple, one of my favorite fashion forward sites for brand name collectives but let's be friggin honest here, I don't want to spend over $300 on sunglasses. The most I've ever spent on a pair of shades is $130 and it took the wrath of God to give that up. If you want a pair Pradas, Tom Fords, Linda Farrows and RayBans for just $12 then you came to the right place my friend -- 80's Purple -- (Did I mention purple is my favorite color) -- I am thrifty girl and I am always looking to save a buck! Don't get me wrong I am still a brand name airhead but honey child if I am spending $425 (which is the average price for the top brands name sunglasses out there now) it better come with a spacecraft.
