Chutes de Niagara

Why of course we went to Niagara Falls, photos can not describe this epic moment...

One of those lazy hot days in Toronto. I really love this place way better than the states. There is something so contagious with the attitudes in Canada. I am still amazed on how extremely kind the people were in contrast to the people here in the states.

Talking Stoop...

Feels wonderful to be back home in New York. Still, I am dreaming about my trip and how wonderful the experience was. It sort of runs you off track and the difficulty is to continue where you left off. I don't know where to start because I left with so much to do and returned with a lot more to do...

Stay of Remembrance...

I am back home in New York City, I am not sure what to feel. I already miss Canada and my family even more. It is the first place that I have visited, that I can see myself making a living and raising a family. This place is absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait to go back...

Here are some shots from my trip, I should have some more up soon...

Saturday Night in Toronto...

Canada is amazing, the people, the vibe, the environment is absolutely breath taking. Even the sunset, stars and the moon have their own show... Speaking of shows, my cousin, his friends and I went to see Solange perform at the Music Hall. Believe it or not this is my first time to a "paid" concert and I had the greatest time of my life! Solange was phenomenal, I sang along through the whole thing as if I was the one of stage

Oh Canada...

Hey to all my Canadians! My mother and I have traveled up north for the week. I do not travel much, well, at least once a year, or I try to. So this year we wanted to go somewhere different however we also wanted to be in the comfort of our family. So, since we have never been to Canada, we just decided to take a quick trip just for the experience. Quebec is so cool, no complaints but I know sooner or later after day 3, I will be missing my mini Brooklyn apartment with my Hun. I'll miss the random dog barks at all times of the day, the car alarms which echoes through your window.... and that sweet bell sound of the Hispanic Icy lady... being home sick is inevitable...

I don't have much photos yet because I just arrived but I am planning to be the tourist which I am most excited to be... see you soon

Now I am resting at my family's home, a wee bit sleepy from the plane ride here but I am trying to fight it...

One Thrift Piece...

Happy Monday! It has been a very long holiday weekend which I hoped you all enjoyed. I spent it doing laundry and the rest is all blur (haha).
These past couple of weeks I have been living in thrift stores. I truly did not know how many really good pieces you can get out of these places for the cost of nothing! Like this skirt I purchased for $8 in my neighborhood, it is 100% silk, high-waist, and the paisley floral print is killer gorgeous. I paired it with this American Apparel ribbed crop top and my favorite Zara leather heel sandals. I am definitely going to challenge myself with just buying second hand clothing more often because I don't really have a steady occupation, so I can not afford to buy really expensive clothing all the time, only versatile pieces.

Deeper Wishing...

Happy Independence Day! Last night my Hun and I rode down to One Brooklyn Park pier to see if we could catch some of the fireworks from the Hudson river. Unfortunately the view wasn't great but the sunset was glorious. The night was unbearably muggy and the air was thick, so the sky just painted this beautiful haze, which was enough of a show for me.
Finally have my own business cards and I am in love with them. I am very proud however I need to do more
There are some days, when I awake; I start to think, and think. Where I think myself out of bed, the other morning I woke up thinking about hairpins. I have been pinning up my hair lately because the heat in New York has been dangerously hot and its frizzing my hair. I made these for myself and decided I will make better ones for the Black & Olive shop. It's funny, because I started with just making bracelets and now I am slowing moving on to making other accessories. I think I am on to something here...

Chelsea

I can't believe how fast last week went by, it's been long and crazy for me at least. This summer was supposed to be the summer to actually market my shop. So I have been utilizing the information I received from school, being that I am a Marketing major to promote my jewelry shop. Who said starting your own business would be easy? I am pulling my hair out because there is a consistency of changes. Intermittently I alter things around for specific reason like the navigation because an average consumer will not search for a product if it is not right there in their face, as well as trying to learn new methods of making jewelry because the competition out there is heavy. So I need to make better pieces than what I can already make. Ideas come to mind however to actually get the product made physically by me is a challenge because I don't have the right equipment yet and I am still new to all of this. Indeed, I believe, skills are enhanced with time. So until then, I have to stick to watching YouTube videos and taking local classes.

Lets talk about this long asymmetric tunic dress from Zara. It's soft, fabric and color, and the drapery is killer. I love to be comfortable whenever I am going into the city because riding the trains and transferring in between them can be very exhausting. Therefore, some garments are just not meant to ride on the train however, I applaud whoever can pull it off.
Saturday's summer sunset was beautiful. I love this shot I took along the Hudson River at Chelsea Piers.
